MOTD : Purple Smoky | Bon Parisien

Hey, world! How do you do?

Purple is something that I do not normally wear on the eyes and elsewhere, so I thought I’d think out of the box for a bit and go for a smoky purple look. What do you think?

I like how the makeup has turned out, to be honest. I should dare to go bold a lot more than usual, eh? I also love the lips. That MUFE lipstick is a nude one (I’m a lover of nudes and neutrals!) and I should also wear it more often. Love the combo with the Urban Decay lipgloss.

Anyway, for a bit of an update here in the Philippines, summer is coming up and it is gonna be smoldering hot! Suffice to say, I am not looking forward to it. I am already having trouble with the current weather and it’s only going to get warmer from hereon out. Yuck.

MOTD : Let’s do Matt(e)! | Bon Parisien

Hey guys! How are you doing?

For my makeup today, I thought I’d go matte on the eyes. It’s something that I don’t normally go for but when I do, I’m always amazed at how simple, elegant, and beautiful it looks.

For this video, I use the Meet Matte Nude palette from The Balm. It’s a makeup brand that I do not have easy access to and with what very few products I have from said brand, I am very impressed at everything that I have from them.

I cannot wait to get my hands on more The Balm items! Any suggestions?

MOTD : Pop of Green | Bon Parisien

, , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello, world!

For today’s makeup tutorial, I go for a pop of green on the eyes. Green is not something I use all the time. In fact, this is probably only the 2nd time that I have put a green eyeshadow on the eyes. It’s not a colour I gravitate towards, makeup-wise (even though it is my fave colour, along with red and black).

I use the Urban Decay Electric palette, one of those surprisingly wearable palettes but can totally be taken to extremes for a bolder look. I also rely (of course) on my MAC palette. I picked out the colours myself and I am looking forward to creating another palette of MAC shadows. Any recommendations?

Anyway, just for a wee update on my stay in the Philippines:
It is going just fine. I am glad to be here, I am glad to see my family and friends. But truth be told, I am starting to get bored (this is probably why I just thought of wearing a green eyeshadow because I have nothing better to do, haha). When I was in Europe, I was doing something every single day. Here, it’s a bit of a step backwards. Needless to say, I cannot wait to move to Canada!

How’s February been to you? Let me know down below!

Valentines Makeup : Soft Brown Smoky | Bon Parisien

I am sad this Valentine’s Day. 😦

Well, it’s great to be in the Philippines and all but my boo is back in Europe and me no likey because we won’t be able to spend V Day together. It’s alright though. It gives us more reason to make sure we’re together next year. 😀

Anyway, here is my take on Valentine’s Day makeup. For this one, I went for a very soft brown smoky look. If you haven’t noticed, this video and the most previous one have both involved me skipping the black gel liner that I used to do. I have been into just sweeping a dark eyeshadow along the upper lash line and smoking it out by blending. I like the much softer effect that it creates.

Anyway, I hope you like this MOTD. If you have any questions, suggestions, recommendations, or what-have-you, feel free to let me know in the comment section down below.

Thanks for watching!

MOTD : Neutral Glowy | Bon Parisien

So recently, I have been into this technique where the eyes are defined by running a dark shade along the upper lash line only. The trick here is to blend, blend, blend and smoke the eyeshadow out. Not only is it such a beautiful neutral, daily look, it is also very easy to achieve!

I hope you guys enjoy this vid as much as I had fun filming it. This is my go-to daily look at the moment and I am loving it!

PS. The Philippines is still super hot but I am rediscovering my birth country again and it is a good feeling. That said, I can’t wait to leave for Canada. Ha!

I am in the Philippines! Holy crap, it’s too surreal! The original plan was to fly / move to Vancouver straight from Paris but since I had a few months off, my mum thought it would be better for me to return to the Philippines and visit my relatives and friends. Needless to say, I am very glad to be here! That said, it is SUPER FREAKIN’ HOT! It was -3C when I was in Germany last week and now it is around 30C where I am. Insane!

Anyway, I thought it would good to start off my time in the Philippines with a haul video. Here are the products I picked up last in Europe before I left. Also, watch out for some of the haul videos I will be doing WHILE in the Philippines because:
1. There are products that are locally produced here and according to my mum, they are phenomenal!;

Makeup tutorial inspired by Marsala | Bon Parisien

, , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Okay folks, for 2015, Pantone’s Color of the Year is Marsala! Beautiful color, methinks. This is my take on that using primarily a wine red color on the eyes but is less brown-based than Marsala itself. That said, this look is still an altogether beautiful eye makeup that is totes wearable all-year long.

Anyway, how are you guys? I just wanna let you know that this video right here is going to be my last video here in Germany. (Whuuuuuuut?!?!)

Where’s my next destination, you ask? Well, stay tuned and find out in a few days because it is gonna be very exciting!!! I myself cannot wait!

Cool-toned makeup tutorial ft. The Balm Meet Matte Nude

Hey guys!

First of all, happy new year! Hope your 2015 is starting off with a bang! Hope the holidays were just as kind to you as they were to me.

Secondly, what is your New Year’s resolution? I would love to hear it! As for me, I plan to dedicate 2015 to myself. I wish to grow and be more fearless and stop giving a sh*t about what anybody thinks about me. I was too hard on myself before because I could not seem to please everyone. And then I realized that I did not need to please anyone at all, and that really, all that matters is how I feel about myself at the end of the day. I define who and how I am, and this has been my mantra and will stay my mantra for this year, and I cannot tell you enough how powerful it is. Lastly, I resolve to be a kinder soul this 2015.

For today’s tutorial, I thought I would use the Meet Matt(e) Nude palette from The Balm, one of two The Balm palettes that I received from a friend who lives in Ireland. I originally wanted to go for a warmer-toned makeup look, but since I’ve been doing that a whole lot already, I opted for a cooler-toned eye makeup instead. Needless to say, I love the result.

As I type this I still have the makeup on my face and it has not moved one bit. That setting spray from NYX is genius!

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this video. I cannot wait to bring you guys another video in a week or less, maybe. Mwah!

New Year’s Eve Makeup Tutorial! | Bon Parisien

, , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

I am back!

I was so sick for almost three weeks that I could not eat solids! It was really bad, that’s why I filmed a tutorial the very first chance I got.

I wanted to do a more festive look with glitters and silvers and bolder colours but I thought I’d do something that’s not too over-the-top instead. This is my take on New Year’s Eve makeup, where I actually went almost neutral on the eyes but played up the lower lash line instead with that touch of burgundy shade. And while I do wear falsies, I didn’t put a pair on in this video because I also wanted to do a look where falsies were just optional and not a requirement.

Anyway, how was Christmas for you, guys? I am actually alone at home for a week and a half more. My cousin and her daughter went to the US for the holidays and left me behind, but I got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas day with a couple of friends so at least I was not all alone. That would’ve been sad. Ha!

I am now looking forward to 2015, to be honest. Things are gonna change for me and I cannot wait for this new chapter in my life to begin.

How’s your 2015 looking like, folks?

PS. The LORAC Behind The Scenes eye primer didn’t immediately crease on me, so hurrah! But I found that it did not last as long as the ones from Smashbox and Urban Decay. 🙂

I got a package from London! | Bon Parisien

First of all, thank you so so much to Christelle for sending me these items all the way from London!

Secondly, I think it doesn’t need repeating anymore but I will say it again that Sleek eyeshadows are THE BEST DRUGSTORE SHADOWS that I have come across. This is honestly saying a lot because I have tried a whole lot of drugstore shadows, at least from my side of the world, and nothing comes close to the quality of Sleek palettes. Kiko shadows are a close 2nd, and Maybelline and L’Oreal shadows are a distant third. Did I mention how awesome Sleek shadows were already? 😀
