Have you heard of the Three P Theory?

It goes like this: to learn responsibility and commitment, you need to start by taking care of a plant, the first P. When you’ve got that mastered, you move on to the second P, a pet. This is obviously more challenging than the first P, but it will teach you a whole lot before moving on to the third and final P, a person. By then, you’ll have learned how to be responsible for something / someone and commit yourself to them.

Sounds easier said than done, I think.
